NEWS RELEASE
GUELPH TOOL LIBRARY
*************************
Spring is in the air and we know you’re eyeing up some spring cleaning, yard sprucing and home reno projects. Just in time, the Guelph Tool Library is launching a spring membership drive. Get your membership before prices rise on May 1, 2024.

The Guelph Tool Library, a member-based lending library, has over 1300 tools and appliances available to help members tackle spring cleaning, home repair, garden prep or just to try out a new hobby.

“It’s a great resource for the community. Instead of buying an item you may only need once or twice, you can borrow it. It’s a less expensive option that saves you from having to store bulky tools, and it reduces waste,” says Claire Cowan, Chair of the Guelph Tool Library. “Some of the favourite tools right now are our pressure washers, rototillers and air compressors. Our saws and tile cutters are also popular right now as people tackle some home reno projects,” says Cowan.

In addition to more traditional yard and home reno tools, the Guelph Tool Library also has a lot of small kitchen appliances and items needed for event catering like tables, pop up canopy tents, dish sets and more.

Until the end of April, community members can secure a membership for $60 for the year. As of May 1, that rate will increase to $70. A membership provides access to the full inventory of tools. Members can borrow up to 10 items at a time and most tools have a 7 day loan period. Tools can be reserved online up to two weeks in advance.

Sign up today at guelphtoollibrary.org or drop by the Old Quebec St Mall.
