On May 16, 2024, at approximately 8:00 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a serious, motor vehicle collision on Wellington Road 21, west of Elora. Initial reports indicated that a trike-motorcycle and mini van had collided, and the operator of the motorcycle was injured.

OPP, Centre Wellington Fire Rescue and Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Services Service responded. The lone occupant of the trike, a 67-year-old from Kitchener, was airlifted to a trauma centre with non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation and anyone with information related to it is asked to call 1-888-310-1122.
