It is with great sadness that the family of Glen Lorne Humphries announce his passing at his home in Guelph, Ontario on Saturday, May 4th 2024, at age 75.

Glen was the beloved husband of 52 years to Mary Humphries (nee van Woezik).  He is sadly missed by his brothers Andrew (Anne), Murray (Heather), John (Lynn) and sister Peggy (Marc Bosc).  He is survived by his brothers-in-law John and Kevin (Sharleen) van Woezik and his sisters-in-law Agnes Lynch (late Harold), and Thea Wilson (late Bob).  Glen was predeceased by his loving parents William and Ina Humphries and his sister-in-law Ilse Vooght (late Jack).  Glen will be remembered very fondly by many nieces and nephews in the large extended Humphries and van Woezik families and by his friends and neighbours.

Glen was a retired certified management accountant.  He will be remembered as a quiet, thoughtful and kind man.  Glen was a great listener.  With his great common sense and dry wit, he could be counted on to respond with the best of comments.  He maintained long friendships, in particular with his friends, Malcom Foy and Ivan Harris.  Glen enjoyed spending time with friends and family at the cottage on Black Donald Lake.

The family wishes to thank the doctors and care workers, particularly the team at the Juravinski hospital in Hamilton.

A graveside service will be held at a later date at Castleford Cemetery, located near the farm where Glen was raised.  Arrangements entrusted to WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL (519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com).  Private messages of condolence may be sent to his family from Glen’s notice on funeral home website.

For those who wish, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

A tree will be planted in memory of Glen L. Humphries in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
