Teen charged with trying to drive off with his friend's dad's vehicle

The dad stopped the teen from driving away in the 2:30 a.m. Monday incident

A Guelph teen faces charges after he tried to take his friend’s dad’s car without permission.

Approximately 2:30 a.m. Monday, the teen was at a friend’s house when he removed the keys for the dad’s car. He started the car and drove it to the end of the driveway before being stopped by the father.

Investigation revealed the teen is on bail for weapons and other charges with a condition he remain in his own residence between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.

A 14-year-old Guelph boy was located at home and arrested for taking a vehicle without consent and breaching a bail order. He was held for a bail hearing Friday.
