GuelphToday has received the following open letter to all candidates from Nicole Abohalka, a concerned resident of Guelph

To all the candidates: In the 21st Century, when the whole world is being torn apart, Canada, Ontario and all Provinces and Municipalities have the very important duty to take a new direction at the governing levels.

Your so-called 'politics' has turned into a childish, destructive and disrespectful game for the benefit of a few and thus has taken a negative connotation reflecting in the disinterest and cynicism of the population.

Each party, at any level, has a pertinent but partial view of the future. Only a portion of the population will choose you and you will take the pledge to serve all.

It is high time to put aside your partisan tactics and views and start, as mature people, cooperating with each other towards the equal well-being of all Canadians and the protection of the earth for the sake of the future generations. Otherwise please step aside.

It should be a vocation and an honour to serve, not a high-paying job with perks and privileges. Speaking of pay, please do not forget that all of us are paying your salaries.

No one is superior to anyone. No one is irreplaceable. Enough of negative campaigns, destructive opposition and half-work done.

Nicole Abohalka
