NEWS RELEASE
GUELPH MUSIC CENTRE
************************
After five months, the Guelph Youth Music Centre (GYMC) entered phase one of its reopening on Aug. 4. The first phase includes private, one-on-one lessons where wearing a mask and physical distancing is required. This includes lessons for instruments, such as piano, strings and percussion.

“It’s lovely to have people in the building again,” commented Gabriella Currie-Ziegler, Executive Director of the GYMC. “Along with the schools and businesses in Guelph, we made the tough decision to close our doors on March 15. Now with the province’s reopening and Public Health safety measures, we are confident to begin reopening. The GYMC is following all safety measures to protect all visitors, staff and students who enter the building. The safety of everyone at the GYMC remains the top priority.”

Students and parents are encouraged to contact their teachers individually to determine if they are resuming in-person lessons.

The GYMC has been fully cleaned and sanitized in preparation for the reopening. Everyone entering the building must wear a mask and sanitize their hands at the front door. Rental enquiries can be made by contacting the office at 519-837-1119 or [email protected].  For those who wish to book an in-person appointment, please call ahead.

The wearing of a face covering is in accordance with Section 22 order in place for Wellington County, Dufferin County and the City of Guelph. For more information about this directive, visit wdgpublichealth.ca.
