The Guelph Police are currently investigating an assault that occurred on July 1, 2020 at approximately 10:45 p.m. Police received a 911 call from an Uber driver who was working in that capacity with a male passenger in the rear seat. Through investigation it was determined that the Uber driver was spit on by the passenger following a verbal altercation. This act constitutes an assault under the Criminal Code and the investigation is ongoing.
