DE LIBERALI, Maria Gabriella

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Gabriella De Liberali (Durigon) on Sunday February 23, 2020. Beloved wife of Luigi and adoring mother to Fausto (2001), Paolo and Antonella. Nonna will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Katiana, Ariss and Jackson and her son-in-law Rob Leshuk. Maria will join her parents Antonio Durigon and Rosalia Bastasin. Her brothers Giuseppe, Amedeo, Oddone and his wife Louisa and her sister Irma and husband Antonio Pavan. She will be finally reunited with her son Fausto whose passing left a void that only her grandchildren were able to fill. Maria was Mamma to everyone she met. Her passion for food, family and friends displayed her caring, selfless and loving nature. Those who were fortunate enough to know her more intimately, however, were also privy to her mischievous and often sarcastic wit. She taught everyone one she knew one of most important words in the Italian language "MANGIA" and subsequently forced them all to learn the word "BASTA". She leaves behind a legacy of love and self-giving and her presence will be greatly missed. Sadly, she takes her often imitated but never duplicated meat sauce recipe with her and in the words of her grandchildren (who all inherited her sense of humour) DAMN! We will miss you always. A private Funeral will be held on Friday February 28. A Celebration of Life will be announced in the coming months.
