It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Leo S. Kosowan, beloved Husband, Father and Opa, to the Kosowan family.  Leo made his peaceful exit on June 30, 2020 at Hospice Wellington, Guelph.
Leo’s greatest happiness was his love for and dedication to family and friends.  His wife Wilhelmina (nee Boote) of 66 years was the love of his life.  Leo was a cherished father to Leo (Jr), Carol, Dianne, Steven, Janet and Michael, and Opa to eight treasured grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  He was adored and admired by beloved in-laws, and much extended family.
He was known for his mischievous and wicked sense of humour, love of dancing and music, a flair for whistling, and passion for food, especially home-cooked Ukrainian cuisine.  He lived life to the fullest and was a practical and adventurous entrepreneur who pursued numerous business ventures at home and abroad.  Born November 3, 1931 and raised in Kapuskasing, the wilderness of Northern Ontario always held a special place in his heart.
Cremation has taken place at WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, in Guelph, and a graveside service will be held at the Kapuskasing Cemetery at a later date.  A tree will be planted in memory of Leo S. Kosowan in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum.  We would like to thank all of his caretakers for their professional and tender care in Leo’s final journey.  Donations to Hospice Wellington or Care Partners in Guelph would be greatly appreciated by the family.
