Passed away peacefully at Hamilton General Hospital with his family by his side on Thursday, July 2nd in his 59th year.
 
He is predeceased by his parents Fred and Patricia, as well as his sister Gail. He leaves behind his loving wife Iris of 22 years, his children Amanda (Jeff), Haley (Travis), Brady and Ethan, and his two beautiful grandchildren Cadence and Owen. He will also be missed by his brothers David, Paul and Mark (Becky), stepmother Joyce, sister in law Christina (Dean), as well as many other family members and friends. Jonathan loved nothing more than spending time with his family. 
 
Born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario, he spent the majority of his younger years in “The Hammer”, before he moved to Cambridge where he lived with his family for the last 20 years. Jonathan was well known for his sense of humour, and constantly making the people around him laugh. He was an avid reader and loved to watch a good movie. He was also a huge sports fan, and especially loved his Chicago Black Hawks and Denver Broncos, game days were always big events in his household. He was an extremely hard worker and worked for the past 27 years at Canadian General Tower in Cambridge, Ontario.
 
We would like to thank all of the staff at Hamilton General Hospital in ICU East who have provided exceptional compassionate care for our loved one over the past few weeks.
 
Cremation will take place and a private celebration of life will take place for immediate family and friends by invitation only. Arrangements entrusted to the Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel, 519-822-0051 – Condolences can be sent to the family via the funeral home website.
 
In lieu of flowers, if desired, contributions can be made to Hamilton General Hospital, ICU East.
