Luis Filipe Trindade, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and visionary entrepreneur, passed away on March 20, 2024, in Niagara-on-the-Lake. He was born on September 7, 1953, and leaves behind a legacy of passion, innovation, and dedication.

Luis is survived by his loving wife, Mary Teodora, and their children Kevin (Andrea Knight), Jason (Rana), and Taren (Gus Koroneos). He also leaves behind cherished grandchildren: Simon, Rachel, Hannah, Aiden, Avary, Ashton, Aria, and Zoie, who will forever remember him for his strength, wisdom, and unwavering love. He will be dearly missed by many extended family and friends.

As a teenager, Luis discovered his love for cycling and futebol, passions that stayed with him throughout his life. His adventurous spirit led him to serve in the Portuguese Merchant Marine Service, where he bore witness to and actively participated in the historic Carnation Revolution in Lisbon on April 25, 1974.

In 1975, Luis immigrated to Canada, where he embarked on a remarkable journey of success. He honed his skills as a bricklayer and quickly rose to prominence, eventually establishing his own business. Through hard work and perseverance, alongside his business partners, he grew his company into one of the largest in the country, employing over 150 skilled bricklayers. His focus shifted to building custom homes as his career progressed.

Luis's interests extended beyond his professional achievements. He cherished spending time with his family and friends, relished trips to Portugal to reconnect with his roots, and constantly brainstormed new projects and inventions. He was known for his ambition and tireless drive to improve efficiency in his work. Notably, he invented a revolutionary mechanized scaffolding system that was patented in North America.

His impact on the construction industry, his commitment to his family, and his innovative spirit will continue to inspire all those who had the privilege of knowing him. Luis will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his family, friends, and colleagues. May he rest in peace, knowing that his legacy lives on in the hearts of those he touched.

A visitation for Luis will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home - Hart Chapel, (1099 Gordon St. Guelph) The Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Basilica Of Our Lady Immaculate (28 Norfolk St. Guelph). Interment at Marymount Cemetery, (5400 Hwy 6 North, Guelph). Reception to follow at the Basilica Of Our Lady Immaculate Parish Hall.
