WAGNER, Lillian Irene

Posted

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lillian Irene Wagner on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at Hospice Wellington, Guelph, Ontario. Lillian Irene (nee Borland), in her 93rd year, was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth Frederick Wagner (1994). She was the loving mother and survived by Bryan (Lo Anne), Kevin (Liz), Robert and Connie Scott (Greg).  She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Chad, Carly (Ryan), Carrie (Thomas), Matt (Chelsea), Alexis (Brian), Tina (Max), Devin and Lisa as well as great-grandchildren Mallory, Michael, Dylan, Odyn, Cohen, and Beau.   She is survived by her sisters, Frances James (Lyndon), Helen and Elizabeth, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Millie Ellies (Cliff).

Irene was born in Timmins, and lived with her family in Thunder Bay, Pembroke and Brampton. She was an RN and nursed in hospitals in Thunder Bay, Montreal, Toronto and Pembroke over a 25 year career. She worked mainly in obstetrics and loved her time in the "nursery".  She was devoted to her family's many athletic endeavours and was a vocal cheerleader at all and every event.  She was immensely proud of all of her children's, grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's successes, big and small and continued to be our most devoted cheerleader until the end.
The family would like to thank the caring and devoted staff at Hospice Wellington and are tremendously grateful for the support provided to Irene and the family by everyone there. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held in Pembroke in August 2020 after which she will be buried in the Holy Anglican Cemetery with her husband Kenneth.

As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Hospice Wellington, Guelph.
