Four from Guelph arrested in northern Ontario drug bust

KIRKLAND LAKE – On Aug. 6, 2020, members of the North East Region Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with the assistance of the OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), the Kirkland Lake OPP Crime Unit and information from the Guelph Police Service conducted a traffic stop on Highway 11 in Armstrong Township.  

As a result of the investigation the OPP have arrested and charged four people. The OPP also seized suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine with an approximate value of $120,000. 

Shawn Yetman, age 56 of Guelph, has been charged with the following: 

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - fentanyl contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA),  
  • Possession of schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - methamphetamine contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA, 
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA; and,  
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC).  

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Aug. 14, 2020 in City of Temiskaming Shores.  

William Fleming, age 46 of Guelph, has been charged with the following:    

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - fentanyl contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA), 
  • Possession of schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - methamphetamine contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA; and,  
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA.     

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Aug. 14, 2020 in City of Temiskaming Shores.  

George Jennex, age 53 of Guelph, has been charged with the following:    

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - fentanyl contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA),  
  • Possession of schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - methamphetamine contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA; and,  
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA.  

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Oct. 22, 2020 in the City of Temiskaming Shores.  

Tammy Lahey, age 47 of Guelph, has been charged with the following:    

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - fentanyl contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA),  
  • Possession of schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - methamphetamine contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA; and,  
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA.  

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Oct. 22, 2020 in the City of Temiskaming Shores.
