Guelph Police responded to 234 calls for service

The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Multiple stolen vehicles
On March 10, 2020 at 11 a.m., an adult male parked his silver 2019 Acura RDX in a commercial parking lot located near the intersection of Victoria Road South and York Road in the City of Guelph.

On March 12 at 12:30 p.m., he returned to the parking lot to find that the vehicle was gone.

On March 12 at 6:25 a.m., an adult female started her silver 2013 Volkswagen Passat that was parked in the driveway of her residence located near the intersection of Deerpath Drive and Imperial Road South. She then left the vehicle unlocked as she went back inside her residence.

At 6:30 a.m., she returned back outside to find that her vehicle was gone. The vehicle contained her wallet, personal identification, $50 cash, a $450 pair of Versace sunglasses and assorted women’s clothing.

Male accused of shoplifting alcohol
On March 11, 2020 at 2:12 p.m., [it is alleged that] an adult male shoplifted $28.95 worth of alcohol from a store located near the intersection of Scottsdale Drive and Stone Road West in the City of Guelph.

On March 12 at 6:21 a.m., police located the male near the downtown core and he was subsequently arrested.

A 26-year-old Guelph male has been charged with:
    •    Theft under $5,000
    •    Breach probation x4

He will appear in court on April 28.

Male arrested for stealing a necklace
On March 12, 2020 at 8:11 a.m., an adult male picked up a silver necklace with several charms that was left in cleaning solution at a community space located in the downtown core of the City of Guelph. The male eventually left the building with the necklace.

At 1:03 p.m., police located the male at the same community space and he was subsequently arrested.

A 39-year-old Guelph male has been charged with theft under $5,000.

He will appear in court on May 5.
