Guelph Police responded to 240 calls for service

The following news release was issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Theft of alcohol
On March 5, 2020, at 5:40 p.m., an adult male shoplifted a bottle of alcohol from a store located near the intersection of Wellington Street West and Gordon Street in the City of Guelph.

Police attended the scene but were unable to locate the male.

The male is described as:

  • Caucasian
  • 5’10
  • Medium build
  • Wearing a dark baseball hat and a black leather jacket over a grey hoodie

Update regarding male arrested after following teenager
On February 12th, 2020, a 13 year old female was followed by a vehicle driven by an adult male while walking to a Guelph elementary school.

On February 26th, the female was again followed while walking to school by the male.

Further investigation revealed the identity of this male.

On March 4, police located the male at his workplace and he was subsequently arrested.

An 18 year old male from Elora has been charged with Criminal Harassment.

He will appear in court on March 20.

The vehicle can be described as a 4 door black sedan.
