Guelph Police responded to 165 calls for service

The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Female arrested for shoplifting
On Jan. 5, 2020 at 12:40 p.m., the loss prevention officer of a grocery store located near the intersection of Willow Road and Silvercreek Parkway North in the City of Guelph observed an adult female [allegedly] shoplift $19.04 worth of merchandise. Police attended the scene and arrested the female.

A 26-year-old Guelph female has been charged with:
    •    Theft under $5,000
    •    Breach probation

She will appear in court on Feb. 21, 2020.

Multiple thefts from vehicles
Some time over night on Jan. 4, 2020, the passenger window of a vehicle parked at a residence near the intersection of Clair Road East and Victoria Road South in the City of Guelph was smashed. Numerous items were taken including a stethoscope, yeti cups and spare change.

Some time over the past week, a vehicle parked in the underground parking garage of an apartment building located in the downtown core of the City of Guelph was entered. Numerous items were taken including CDs and the vehicle’s ownership document.
