Vehicle locked on radar at over 130 km/h

TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH-ERAMOSA – On June 28, 2020 at approximately 11:30 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic and conducting radar on Highway 6 near Wellington Road 22 in Guelph-Eramosa Township. The officer observed a southbound motor vehicle travelling at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 130 km/h.

Linda Gucciardi, 65-years-old of Chatsworth has been charged with Racing a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in Guelph at the Ontario Court of Justice - Provincial Offences Court on Sept. 16, 2020. The vehicle and driver's licence were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
