Guelph Police responded to 189 calls for service

The following news release was issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Male Interrupted During Residential Shed Break In
On March 3, 2020, at 7 a.m., a resident caught an adult male going through the shed in the backyard of his residence located near the downtown core of the City of Guelph. The male immediately fled on foot. Multiple items were taken including camping gear.

The male is described as:

  • Aboriginal
  • 25 years old
  • Wearing a black touque, white track pants and black jacket with fur around the hood
  • Carrying a backpack
  • Had an open knife in his pocket

The Guelph Police Service would like to remind the public to lock your sheds.

$2,000 worth of tools stolen during residential break in
Some time between 6:30 p.m. pm March 2 and 8 a.m. on March 3, 2020, a residence under construction located near the intersection of Grange Road and Victoria Road North in the City of Guelph was entered.

Multiple items valued at approximately $2,000 were taken including:

  • Makita skill saw
  • Makita impact and drill kit with battery and drill bits
  • Makita sawzall
  • Dremel cutting tool and blades
  • Construction radio with battery and charger
  • Work belt pouch
  • Tool box containing various tools
  • Safety Boots
