Woman arrested for impaired driving with children in the car

A one-year-old and a three-year-old were in the vehicle at the time of the arrest

On March 1, 2020, at 9:26 p.m., members of the Guelph Police Service were dispatched to a residence located near the intersection of Victoria Road South and Arkell Road in the City of Guelph after receiving information from the Waterloo Regional Police Service that an adult female was allegedly driving to the residence impaired with children in her vehicle.

At 9:31 p.m., police observed a vehicle pulling into the driveway, initiated a traffic stop and began speaking with the female driver. She subsequently failed an Approved Screening Device roadside breath test and was arrested.

Police also located the female’s one-year-old and three-year-old children in the vehicle. They were left in the care of their father.

A 31 year old Guelph female has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration.

She will appear in court on March 13.
