The game of hockey has always been about camaraderie.

Teammates working together for a common goal, helping one another grow and thrive as a unit. Whether it’s on the ice or outside the rink, that’s the true spirit of the game.

Even for those who don’t strap on the skates, ball hockey adopts the same core values as ice hockey. And this spring is another exciting opportunity for youth in Guelph to work as a team and be active in some local ball hockey.

The Royal City Ball Hockey league is gearing up for their spring campaign for another season of fun. Since 2014, their ball hockey league has been a safe and enjoyable place to play for everyone. No experience is required and no child will ever be excluded or cut from a team. Everybody who signs up gets to play.

Older kids looking to take the next step in their game can join the U10, U12, U15, and U18 ball hockey leagues. Across all ages, the most important aspect of the game is fair play, equal playing time, and fun for everyone.

Regular hockey schedules can have families travelling all over the province from week to week, but Royal City Ball Hockey’s schedule and venue is consistent week-to-week. Players play all games at the ball hockey rink at Guelph Country Club, and there’s no need for out-of-town travel.

Games are every Saturday for 13 weeks, and the spring ball hockey season runs March 23 until June 22, with a one-week hiatus on May 18.

Registration for the spring ball hockey season is now open until March 16 and the cost to register per player is $225 plus HST.

The players may start the season as individuals, but by the last game, they’re banded together as teammates. It’s no wonder players come back year after year because of the fun, the friendships, and the lessons learned.

One parent said: “Thank you again for an amazing year of ball hockey. You guys run a class act! Only reason we came back this year is because of how great your program is.”

If your child is interested in joining the Royal City Ball Hockey youth league this spring, find more details about registering at the Royal City Ball Hockey Club website, or email [email protected] for more information.
