Centre Wellington receives $805K in second-quarter OLG payment

Township gets close to $1 million for hosting Elements Casino Grand River

Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. has made a second-quarter payment of $805,088 to the Township of Centre Wellington for hosting Elements Casino Grand River, a news release said.

So far,during OLG’s fiscal year (April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024), Centre Wellington has received $1,591,608.  Since the gaming site opened in December 2003, Centre Wellington has received $40,714,194.

“OLG continues to be a proud partner in hosting gaming communities,” said Minister of Finance Peter Bethlenfalvy. “Municipality Contribution Agreement payments help these municipalities fund priorities such as community infrastructure, parks and recreation and local health care facilities, benefiting families and local residents.”

Since 1994, host communities have received more than $2 billion in non-tax gaming revenue, the release said.
