Hot Laps event raises $20,000 for Groves Hospital

Fundraiser has now raised almost $70,000 for the hospital in four years

Station Earth in Fergus first held its annual client appreciation Hot Laps event, raising $19,500 for Groves Memorial Community Hospital's oncology unit.

The annual event has been held since 2013 and has been a fundraiser for the oncology unit since 2020.

“This is an event where you bring your sports cars out for a fun day of experiencing what your cars are truly capable of. This is a fantastic day of “Test and Tune” and running hot laps. This is a fun event; everyone drives within their comfort zone. No experience is required, just a desire for a fun day in the sun alongside some great cars and great people," said organizers Rowan McLean and John Stumpf in a news release.

In four years Hot Laps has raised nearly $70,000 for cancer care in the community.

Groves Hospital Foundation executive director, Lori Arsenault said “the Hot Laps event is unlike any other fundraiser we have ever seen at Groves. It is such a unique and fun idea. We are so thankful to Rowan and John, and the whole team at Station Earth."
