ERIN – Residents looking to enjoy Lion's Club Park during the mild weather will be out of luck until next summer.

According to a new notice, the sewage pumping station being constructed in Lion's Club Park as a part of the wastewater servicing project will require the use of the entire park property and temporary removal of the playground equipment until late summer 2025.

Five additional trees are also slated for removal and a construction access road will be installed across the park from Lions' Park Ave to the sewage pumping station site on the north end of the park.

Previous notices related to the construction said tree and vegetation removal was necessary but would be completed within a week while construction was anticipated to finish in September 2024.

A new pavilion will be built and monuments will be reinstated at the south end of the park following the construction and any removed trees and shrubs will be replaced to restore the park "to its original or better condition."
