ONTARIO: Police lay murder charge after fatal Kitchener explosion

KITCHENER - A man, 58, from Kitchener, is facing several charges, including first degree murder in connection with the death of Edra Haan.

Members of the Major Crime Unit of Waterloo Regional Police made the arrest on Monday.

The suspect will appear in court today.

He is also facing one count of arson disregard for human life and two counts of arson damage to property.

Haan, who was 58, was found dead in her Sprucedale Crescent home following a house explosion the morning of August 22.

Police say a man, who also lived at the residence, remains in hospital.

He was airlifted to hospital with critical injuries.

One home was demolished and two others suffered extensive damage in the explosion.

Police say the investigation continues.
