About Borealis Grille and Bar

Serving the very best of locally crafted foods and beverages, we believe that supporting local is more than just a tagline, we put it into practice in each area of our restaurant. From where we source our ingredients, to which breweries, distilleries and wineries we put behind our bar, to the building supplies and furniture we use, local is at the very core of everything we do at Borealis.

Local Tastes Way Better

We are so fortunate to live in a province that's full of wonderful people committed to growing and creating delicious, high-quality food and beverages for us to share with you!

Not only are the ingredients fresher, taste better, and buying them supports our community but we're able to significantly reduce our environmental impact. (And hey, if we can't find it in Ontario...you bet we can find it in Canada!)

Quality

Local food tastes way better! We know we say it a lot but that's because we're passionate about how locally produced food is fresher, tastes better and is more nutrient dense.

Community

Buying local not only diversifies the local community’s economy and provides employment in our immediate area but it builds real and meaningful relationships with the people who grow and make our food.

Our Space

Creating spaces that celebrate our community, local producers, and artisans is extremely important to us with preservation and sustainability built into each of our locations.

In Guelph, tables were crafted from fallen black walnut trees and stone accents were mined from nearby Milverton.

Kitchener is home to a beautifully refurbished early 19th Century historic schoolhouse with much of the original interior intact and restored including the original floors and metal work created by local artisans.

Sustainability

The environmental impact is significantly lower because the food you're eating isn't being transported thousands of miles. In fact, you may travel farther to the restaurant than your food does!
