In a few months, a new model will be added to the Range Rover product lineup, but not for long. The SV Coupé, which will be officially revealed on the brand’s website on March 6, will be exclusive with a production limited to 999 units for worldwide consumption.

After expanding the lineup with the compact-sized Range Rover Velar, the Range Rover SV Coupé will be a full-size SUV that will accommodate four passengers. There are currently no other coupes in this segment, so the SV Coupé will be unique. The very first Range Rover, introduced in 1970, was in fact a two-door SUV, so this new coupe obviously pays tribute to the original.

Each unit will be assembled by hand, and the English brand promises the SV Coupé will feature “a seductive body and a supremely refined interior.”

The only image published so far offers a bird’s-eye view of the cockpit. The front-seat area is dressed in white, with a contrasting black rear section. A centre console with fine wood trim stretches from one end of the cockpit to the other, and rear-seat occupants benefit from their own climate controls.

No technical details have been announced so far, but we can expect Land Rover’s crown jewel engine to be on board. That means a supercharged 5.0-litre V8 that produces 557 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque in the Range Rover SVAutobiography Dynamic. As for pricing, we believe it will hover at around $200,000 in Canada.

After its unveiling on the web, the Range Rover SV Coupé will make its public debut at the Geneva Auto Show in March, where Land Rover will also celebrate its 70th anniversary.
