A number of local groups are planning an all-candidates forum that will invite all nine people running locally in the federal election.

It takes place Oct. 17 at Royal City Church and the Life Centre (the former Chalmer's United Church) on Quebec Street from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The event is being organized by groups who believe all candidates should be invited to participate in federal election debates.

All nine candidates running in Guelph will be invited, including Communist Party candidate Juanita Burnett, independent candidates Kornelis Klevering and Mike Wassilyn and Christian Heritage Party candidate Gordon Truscott, who have not been invited to several debates.
