Skating on stormwater ponds is dangerous

Stormwater ponds are never fully frozen

Stormwater ponds are never fully frozen making them dangerous to skate on.

Rainwater and snowmelt flow from driveways, sidewalks and roads directly into stormwater ponds without being treated.

What do we use to melt ice on roads? Salt. Pair that with moving water under the surface and it’s a deadly mix.

Don’t put yourself, or our first responders in danger for a few minutes of fun - keep off stormwater ponds.
