As a result of continued growth, McDougall Energy is looking for a high energy, results focused individual as an Account Manager within the Home Market. Reporting to the Director of Home Market, the Account Manager will ensure an outstanding customer experience is being delivered to existing and prospective customers while supporting the Home Market Sales Team.

The position will be responsible for:

  • Educating current customers on propane, heating oil, service plans and associated services;
  • Preparing credit applications, customer information sheets, Account Cancellation, and any other required paperwork;
  • Identifying opportunities to upsell to customers, based on the products and services offered;
  • Responding to incoming consumer calls for home heating product inquiries;
  • Conducting ongoing customer needs analysis;
  • Resolving customer concerns to resolution; may involve working cross functionally with various departments;
  • Working in collaboration with the Territory Manager’s to maximize team effectiveness;
  • Maintaining and building committed relationships with customers and industry associations for business development.
  • Ensuring retention and maintaining overall customer satisfaction;
  • Maintaining knowledge of competitive offers. Review and make recommendations to improve our offer in the Home market.


  • A post-secondary degree or diploma with 1–3 years’ experience in sales or customer service; knowledge of the fuel industry or home utility products considered an asset;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including strong written and oral skills;
  • Strong negotiating, time management and presentation skills;
  • Strategy development and strong analytical skills are an asset;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point;
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and retain strong customer relationships;
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills;
  • A high energy, self-starter who can effectively work within a strong team culture.
