Community health-care leader Dr. Anne Marie Zajdlik will join business philanthropist, Jim Estill and mental health expert, Helen Fishburn for a virtual roundtable discussion on how to move forward in the midst of COVID-19 on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at 7 p.m. Viewers will have an opportunity ask questions.
Bracelet of Hope is sponsoring the discussion as an educational and fundraising event supporting COVID-19 programs at Bracelet of Hope and the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA)
Dr. Anne Marie Zajdlik, recipient of the Order of Ontario, is founder of Bracelet of Hope. Zajdlik will talk about her experience as a physician doing ground-breaking work in Africa dealing with the HIV/AIDS pandemic, and how that compares with fighting the COVID-19 pandemic in our community.
Jim Estill, President and CEO of Danby Appliances, is best known for sponsoring 150 Syrian refugees. In addition to being named to the Order of Canada, Jim has invested in more than 150 start-ups and has taken his company to $2 billion in sales. He will talk about his motivation and quick pivot to manufacturing ventilators to support those on the frontlines of fighting COVID-19.
Helen Fishburn has worked in numerous roles in the fields of mental health and addictions. She is currently Executive Director of CMHA in Waterloo-Wellington. She brings more than 25 years of experience in the mental health field and a unique perspective to issues surrounding COVID-19.

Donations will go toward Bracelet of Hope’s mobile-clinic-COVID-19 response project for remote communities in Lesotho, Africa. The clinic’s programs are aimed at preventing more orphans resulting from COVID and mitigation activities in its six foster homes.
Integrated Youth Service Network Funds will support virtual care services assisting youth in isolation. This includes the B-Together Talk Series, a weekly series of talks aimed at youth-led topics and youth engagement workshops where youth can express their needs both now and after COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.
You will be invited to make a contribution but donations are voluntary. There is no charge to participate.
