Despite being allowed to reopen starting Friday as the province moves into Stage 3 or reopening, the Guelph Public Library isn't quite ready to open its doors.

“Our focus over the next several weeks will be on reopening up all library locations. We are now working alongside Public Health and the City of Guelph to understand how best to accommodate this new phase outlined by the Government of Ontario. Reopening takes planning, preparations, recall of staff, training and more. The priority of the library continues to be the health and safety of our customers and staff," said library CEO Steven Kraft in a news release.

The library will continue to offer virtual reference services, online eResources, virtual programming, return of library items in drop boxes at all locations - except the West End branch and Bookmobile community stops - as well as providing curbside pickup services.

"The Guelph Public Library appreciates your patience as new procedures are being created for the next service level. We look forward to sharing our Phase 3 re-opening plans over the next couple of weeks."
