Update: The YMCA-YWCA of Guelph has issued the following statement: “Today we learned of a mis-reporting of two confirmed cases at the Guelph Lake YMCA Child Care centre. Currently, there are no confirmed cases in children or staff at any of our Guelph Y child care centres. We appreciate the stress this may cause families, and while we’re uncertain of how this error occurred, we’re focused on working with the Ministry of Education to have this error corrected and in communicating accurate information with our families.” Geoff Vogt, CEO, YMCA-YWCA of Guelph.

Update: The YMCA-YWCA says there was a reporting error and that no positive cases were confirmed at the program. They say they have contacted the province to have the reporting portal updated.

The province has confirmed two active COVID-19 cases at the YMCA-YWCA of Guelph's Guelph Lake School Age Program, a non-licensed, authorized recreation program) offered after school at Guelph Lake Public School on Watson Road.
The confirmed tests were included on the province's reporting tool for schools and licenced child care centres and agencies Wednesday morning. The daily report lists child care centres and home child care agencies that currently have active cases of COVID-19.
There is no mention of the positive tests on the Y's web site or COVID update link.
An outbreak does not necessarily mean the centre will be closed.
There are 45 child care facilities currently listed as having cases out of 5,080 licenced centres in the province. There are nine child care centres currently closed because of an outbreak.
