About Us

Guelph is rich in architectural and cultural heritage.   Founded in 1827 by a Scottish novelist and entrepreneur, our city has many unique and fascinating stories to tell. Guelph is blessed with two rivers  - the Speed and the Eramosa -- that are designated as Canadian heritage rivers.

We are a city of innovation and firsts.  Guelph was the first city in Canada to have a police motorcycle, the founding home of the Provincial Winter Fair, home of the Yukon Gold potato and the terms "hat trick" and "jock strap".

This site is your portal to all things related to Guelph heritage.
