Guelph Non-Profit Housing

About Us

The Guelph Non-Profit Housing Corporation is a municipal non-profit organization that provides social housing for the City of Guelph. Established in 1987 it is the largest non-profit housing provider in the City of Guelph, with ownership of 545 units in nine community properties. Approximately 80 per cent of the units in the Corporation's portfolio are available on a geared-to-income basis to meet the need of those households that cannot compete for rental housing on the private market. The Corporation's mandate is to manage the affordable/social housing portfolio and to carry out the assisted housing programmes to meet the needs for Guelph's low and moderate-income households.

Guelph Non-Profit Housing Corporation owns and manages 512 rent-geared-to-income (RGI) units and market rent units through the social housing programmes, established through a mandate "to provide rent-geared-to-income and market rent housing to families and single persons and seniors".  Our housing properties are located in the service area of the City of Guelph.  The Guelph Non-Profit Housing Corporation also owns and manages 33 affordable rental housing units located in Guelph.

Guelph Non-Profit Housing Corporation has a management agreement with the County of Wellington. The County's Housing Services provides all the administrative and property management services for these properties and act as the landlord for these Guelph Non-Profit Housing Corporation owned units. A board of directors provides governance responsibilities for the corporation.
