Jackie Ferris is a professional mentor in Guelph, dedicated to nurturing social and emotional health and wellness in people of all circumstances.

Comrade Morpho is a mentoring program, where Jackie engages one-on-one with mentees through intentional yet ordinary face-to-face quality time. They meet frequently and consistently over an extended period of time, to take part in mentee-centric activities. During their interactions, Jackie passively helps to improve social and emotional wellness through offering genuine warmth, empathy, support, and encouragement and by modelling healthy and happy habits.

It Takes A Village

Every person, no matter their circumstances, benefits greatly from strong, positive relationships. We are social beings, and when we experience meaningful connections, in all parts of life, we thrive from the sense of love and belonging.

Establishing a strong web of relationships isn’t always easy, for all kinds of reasons; being new to town, introversion, no/undesirable extended family, or social anxiety, to name a few.

Jackie started Comrade Morpho so she could help.

Meaningful Social Connections Are The Key To:

  • Lower rates of anxiety and depression
  • Higher self-esteem
  • Overcoming adversity
  • Decreasing feelings of loneliness
  • Increased empathy toward others
  • Greater academic achievement
  • Becoming more trusting and cooperative
  • Decreasing risky behaviours
  • Developing a desire to give back
  • Lower rates of stress
  • A healthier lifestyle and longer life
