GuelphToday received the following letter to the editor from reader Bruce Weaver in response to a letter from James Smith on Green Party leader Mike Schreiner being courted by the Liberal party. Smith's letter was in responce to our story Liberal letter courting Mike Schreiner to be next leader.
In reply to Mr. Smith’s letter, I would suggest that he makes the best case for Mr. Schreiner to stay with the Green Party of Ontario. It would be pointless for Mike to enter such a toxic environment. Far better to use his time and skills to work cross party as he currently does as leader of the GPO.
It was remiss of Mr. Smith to not review the GPO policies before his laughable suggestion that he cross to a party with no policy convergence.
Let us give Mr. Schreiner time to understand the concerns of his own members and the needs of “low profile” liberals.
