GuelphToday received the following letter to the editor from Lorna, a senior citizen of our fair city who would like to give credit where credit is due:

I, a senior citizen, would like to thank and commend those who manage to keep the sidewalks cleared in front of their property when it has snowed.

I, like many seniors, use walkers and canes to get around the city.

Shame on the citizens of this city that don't make the effort to clear their sidewalks. I myself have had to take to the side of the road as the sidewalk is full of snow or chunks of snow that I can not get over or around.

Maybe you should try walking with a walker or a cane with weights on to see for yourself how hard it is to manoeuvre in the snow.

Again, thanks to those who take the time to remove snow off the sidewalks in the city.
