LETTER: Misleading to say we're building 'apartments'

Let's call them what they actually are: condominiums

GuelphToday received the following letter from reader Gail Ferris in response to our story Most new housing in Guelph last year was apartments: report.

I usually mentally “gripe” about many of the Guelph housing articles, but the May 7 statement about this city building more “apartment” buildings is so misleading.

Call it what it actually is… condominiums!

And usually expensive (considering purchase price + condo fees + parking) for an average single person or couple to purchase.

If not condos, the building has been for student-type housing/dorms.

I was born in Guelph and have seen the good, bad and sometimes ugly in this city. We can do better for all citizens in Guelph.

Well that’s just my point of view.
