LETTER: New Guelphite says dog park noise is a non-issue in other municipalities

Murray Clarke says the issue goes beyond a 'not in my backyard' mentality

GuelphToday received the following letter from citizen Murray Clarke regarding the ongoing debacle surrounding off-leash dog parks in Guelph.

We’ve recently moved to Guelph and appreciate the extensive parks, trails and public open spaces. Near our home is a large city park adjacent to a public school.

While not strictly legal, many dog owners allow their pooches to run and play, leash-free.

There may be an occasional yip, but barking is a non-issue.

In the town where we lived previously, the municipality developed a lovely fenced leash-free park which we visited daily with our dog, along with many other owners and pets. Noise there is a non-issue.

Beyond NIMBY? NOPE, Not On Planet Earth. Or BANANA. Build Absolutely Nothing Anywhere Anything Else.
