LETTER: Stop signs aren't a suggestion

Reader Lynn Mayhew, whose husband was recently hit by a vehicle while out for a walk, has noticed a pattern when it comes to stop signs in some areas locally

GuelphToday received the following Letter to the Editor from Lynn Mayhew regarding the number of drivers she has witnessed who have seemingly ignored stop signs.

STOP SIGNS: I have just been for a walk around my neighbourhood and watched at least a dozen cars blow straight through, can drivers not read or do they think they are exempt from the law.

My reason for outrage is my husband was out walking on June 3 (your site described him as an elderly gentleman) when he was hit by a pickup truck who failed to stop at a STOP SIGN. This has to stop, smarten up people and learn to drive properly.
