Mask Off Guelph raised over $120,000 for The Grove Wellington Guelph and The Children's Foundation of Guelph Wellington.

Both organizations help support youth mental health.

Over the last five years the masquerade ball event has raised over $300,000. The purpose of attendees wearing masquerade masks is to symbolize how people live under a mask, while living with mental illness.

“The funds raised through this event will provide essential mental health support and wellness resources for youth in our community,” said Jeffrey Hoffman, chief development officer of The Grove Wellington Guelph, said in a press release.

“We host the annual Mask Off event with the hopes of making a difference in the mental health and wellbeing of the youth in our community. As someone who had my own mental health struggles as a youth, I understand the importance of accessible mental health services and I am proud to see the community coming together to help take the mask off of mental health,” said Charmaine Collins, Mask Off founder and organizer, in the press release.

The Grove Wellington Guelph is for youth ages 12 to 26 to meet their mental health needs and a variety of other needs. The Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington connects children and youth to mental to community mental health agencies for counselling.
