2000 Honda clocked at 136 km/h in an 80 zone

CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP – On Oct. 22, 2016 at approximately 7:37 p.m., a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting radar speed enforcement and monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 29 just south of Wellington Road 18 in Centre Wellington Township. 

The officer observed a male driving a 2000 Honda at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at approximately 136 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.

39-year-old David Tonner of Elora has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on Nov. 22, 2016 to answer to the charge.
