23 more area pharmacies now offering the AstraZeneca vaccine

Starting Monday, these additional facilities will be accepting appointments for adults 55 and over

Twenty-three more pharmacies in the local public health unit's area will soon be booking appointments for the AstraZeneca vaccine.

The announcement comes after 10 pharmacies in the area started offering the vaccine on April 1. Starting Monday, all additional facilities will be accepting appointments for adults 55 and older.

Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health will see 10 additional pharmacies in Guelph, four additional pharmacies in Orangeville and two additional pharmacies in Shelburne. 

Fergus, Elora, Mount Forest, Arthur, Drayton and Grand Valley will each have one additional pharmacy. Residents can find their nearest pharmacy offering vaccinations here.

Drug Store Pharmacy on Tower Street South in Fergus.

Walsh’s IDA Pharmacy on Main Street South in Mount Forest.

Shoppers Drug Mart on Clair Road West in Guelph.

Caravaggio IDA Drugs on Main Street East in Shelburne.

Shoppers Drug Mart on First Street (Orangeville Mall) in Orangeville.  

Shoppers Drug Mart on Broadway in Orangeville.

Rexall on Eramosa Road in Guelph.

Rexall on Riddell Road in Orangeville.

University Square Pharmacy on Gordon Street in Guelph.

Drugstore Pharmacy on Fourth Avenue in Orangeville.

Wal-Mart Pharmacy on Woodlawn Road West in Guelph.

Walsh’s Ida Pharmacy Ltd. on George Street in Arthur.

Drayton Pharmacy on Wellington Street North in Drayton.

Kortright Pharmacy on Kortright Road West in Guelph.

Elora Apothecary on Geddes Street in Elora.

Shelburne Town Pharmacy on Main Street East in Shelburne.

The additional pharmacies are joining 700 pharmacies across the province that will begin vaccinations this week, including the expansion of pharmacies in hot spot communities. 

More than 1,400 pharmacies are now offering the vaccine and officials expect this number to increase to about 1,500 by the end of April.
