26 liquor-related tickets issued and two people cited for public urination

The Guelph Police Service, along with the University of Guelph, Guelph By-law Officers and all members of the Town and Gown committee, worked together proactively to ensure that all had a safe and enjoyable St. Paddy’s Day.

By the numbers, police responded to 23 noise complaints, 26 liquor-related tickets were issued, there were seven people taken in custody for being intoxicated in a public place and two people were cited for urinating in a public place.

There was R.I.D.E. enforcement performed during the evening that saw 750 drivers checked.

There were seven roadside breath tests performed that saw one driver apprehended for driving offences and 2 three days suspensions were issued.
