On Sunday, May 26, over 400 walkers participated at their local IG Management Walk for Alzheimer’s, raising over $110,000 for Alzheimer Society Waterloo Wellington.

"It was an incredible day. We had four walks in four different communities – all on the same day, at the same time," says executive director Michelle Martin. "Our local walks took place in Kitchener-Waterloo, Guelph, Mount Forest and Cambridge. It was so wonderful to see so many new faces and returning families at this important fundraiser for our Society."

“This year’s Walk was a wonderful family event!  Connecting with old friends and newcomers all on the same journey is very supportive to everyone,’’ says Anne Hopewell, a client and volunteer of the Alzheimer Society.

Funds raised directly support the many free or low cost services that include counselling, support groups, education and recreational programs to those living in Waterloo Wellington with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias, and their care partners.
