Accused murderer Sean Haverty appeared in a Guelph court on Friday.
Haverty, 49, appeared in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice to confirm his trial date.
He will be tried by jury starting April 3. The trial is expected to last two to three weeks. Pre-trial motions are scheduled to be heard starting Nov. 7.
Haverty is charged with the first-degree murder of Chris Schweitzer during an altercation on Tiffany Street East, just north of downtown Guelph, on June 18, 2015.
He is also charged with selling/delivering a restricted weapon and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
Haverty is represented by Ari Goldkind of Toronto. Crown attorney in the case is Judith MacDonald.
Haverty remains in custody.
