All schools in the Upper Grand District School Board and Wellington Catholic District School Board are closed today due to inclement weather.

The decision to enact board-wide closures was issued at about 6:30 a.m. Thursday morning as freezing rain fell throughout Guelph and Wellington County. Board offices are also closed.

Environment Canada issued a freezing rain warning for Guelph and other parts of southern Ontario at around 5 a.m. Thursday. Ice pellets are expected to change to rain by Thursday afternoon, with winds gushing to 60 km/h at times. The temperature is expected to reach 3C.

The rain will end late in the evening.
