Allie, Justin and Jonathan recognized for work as Safety Patrollers

On Monday, June 17, 2019, the Guelph Police Service School Safety Officers hosted the annual School Safety Patrol Awards Luncheon at the Italian Canadian Club.

Mayor Guthrie, Chief Cobey, Officer Matt and Officer Sherry were joined by many community partners, 160 student Safety Patrollers, Principals, Vice-Principals, teacher Patrol Supervisors from the 43 Guelph elementary schools that participate in the program to celebrate the success of the Guelph Safety Patrol Program. The awards luncheon is a yearly event to recognize Patrollers, Patrol Supervisors, community partners/ sponsors as well as presentation of a number of awards.

  • Allie McIlwraith- Grade 6 from John Galt Public School
  • Justin Zhou, grade 7 and Jonathan Zhou, grade 5, brothers from Ecole Arbour Vista

The recipient of the Guelph School Safety Patrol Supervisor of the Year Award:

  • Mr Rob Padovan- Teacher from John Galt Public School

The Guelph School Safety Patrol Team of the Year:

  • Fred A. Hamilton Public School

The Guelph School Safety Patrol Program has been in existence since 1939. The Guelph Police Service, City of Guelph and CAA- thank all student Safety Patrollers as well as teacher Patrol Supervisors for the very important work they do keeping school communities safe. They are very valued volunteers in our Community.
