Amazon lists Guelph as 12th in Canada when it comes to online reading purchases

Down from 10th last year when it comes to online book and e-book sales

Amazon Canada has Guelph listed 12th in the country in its sixth annual Canadian Cities that Love to Read list.

Guelph was ranked 10th in last year's list.

Kingston received the top spot in the sixth annual list. In second place, and appearing for the first time ever on the list, was Waterloo.

The list looks at print and Kindle e-book sales from Amazon.ca on a per capita basis in Canadian cities with more than 100,000 residents from May 2017 to May 2018.

The top 20 were:

1.     Kingston, Ontario

2.     Waterloo, Ontario (new in 2018)

3.     Vancouver, British Columbia

4.     Kelowna, British Columbia

5.     Langley, British Columbia

6.     Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

7.     Calgary, Alberta

8.     Oakville, Ontario

9.     Regina, Saskatchewan

10.   Edmonton, Alberta

11.   Red Deer, Alberta (new in 2018)

12.   Guelph, Ontario

13.   Burlington, Ontario

14.   London, Ontario

15.   Delta, British Columbia (new in 2018)

16.   Oshawa, Ontario

17.   Kitchener, Ontario

18.   Barrie, Ontario

19.   Winnipeg, Manitoba

20.   Thornhill, Ontario
