Annual Dog Jog fundraiser returns in-person Saturday

The 13th annual fundraiser aims to raise $10,000 for the OVC Pet Trust

Get some exercise with your friends, family and furry companions this weekend while raising money for the OVC Pet Trust at the 13th annual Dog Jog.

Organized by the Omega Tau Sigma Professional Veterinary Fraternity, the fundraiser will take place in-person at The Arboretum from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Those interested in participating can set up profiles online to register and begin collecting donations; registered joggers will also have the chance to win prizes.

Participants are encouraged to post pictures or videos of their walk, tagging the OVC Pet Trust on social media, and using the hashtag #OTSDogJog.

For the first time, there will also be an outdoor market filled with goods made by current students. Refreshments will be served as well.

So far they’ve raised nearly $7,000 for the OVC Pet Trust, with a fundraising goal of $10,000. The Pet Trust is a charity that funds studies to advance the health and well-being of companion animals.

Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. More information on the event and how to set up a profile can be found here
